Facebook has stepped up efforts to prevent hoaxes and fake news on the social network.
The social network is testing an automated system to identify when stories and news posts are fake and flag them as such.
Facebook said Tuesday that the new system will be available in the U.S. and other countries starting in the second quarter of next year.
The company also announced that it has created an automated detection tool that it said could help users better spot fake news stories on its platform.
Facebook’s automated system will detect hoaxes in posts that are flagged by users or flagged by a member’s friend or family members.
